Citrus Margarita Mix

Ingredients

For the simple syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla bean paste

For the citrus margarita mix

  • 1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice 3 oranges
  • 1 cup fresh squeezed lime juice 8-12 limes
  • 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice 8 lemons
  • 1 tablespoon vodka

To make 1 Margarita

  • Kosher salt for rimming the glass
  • 4 oz (1/2 cup) margarita mix
  • 1.5 - 2 oz silver tequila
  • 1/2 oz orange liqueur such as triple sec or Grand Marnier
  • Ice
  • Citrus wedges/slices for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Make the simple syrup: Combine water, sugar, and vanilla bean paste in a small sauce pan over high heat. Bring to a full rolling boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is slighthly syrupy. Remove from heat, set aside to cool.
  • Make the margarita mix: Once the sugar is cooled pour it into a large jar. To the jar add the vodka, orange, lime, and lemon juices. Seal the jar and shake vigorously to combine. Margarita mix will keep in a tightly sealed container in your refrigerator for over 3 weeks.
  • To make 1 margarita - Rim a margarita glass with kosher salt and set aside. To a martini shaker, Add the citrus margarita mix, tequila, orange liquor, and ice. Shake for a few seconds until combined. Pour into the salt rimmed margarita glass. Drink...
