Boozy Drinks

OK… I feel I should be throwing confetti… Should I be throwing confetti? Lighting up a Cohete? Should I spray you with tequila?

I’m not sure, yet all I know is there’s a celebration happening in this piece! On the Mexican pieces… They’re celebrating their ish, and because I’m an equal opportunity celebrateur, I want in on this bandwagon.

You are busy cutting up your

for the margarita keg. I get it,  you want to get that celebration underway. I caught you between sips of tequila, and it’s your turn to take a whack at the piñata. The Mariachi band is about to play.

I’ll be brief.

Frozen Mangoes… I froze fresh mangoes… Chopped them up…

Salted a margarita glass…

Got some Tequila, Cointreau, and Lemons. I juice the lemons.

I blended it…  Y ahi esta!

I just made some mango margarita magia happen… In like 10 minutes!

Get your celebration on!

Feliz Cinco De Mayo!!!

P.S.  Want some more Cinco De Mayo-ish type deals?

Try these Tres Leche Cupcakes with Coconut Whipped Cream. They’ll blow your mind…

Got some time on your hands? How about Puerco Pibil? So good you’ll shoot somebody… But don’t… Seriously. Shoot your gun up in the air or something…

What Cinco De Mayo celebration goes down without cilantro and limes?

Wait, is that just me? OK, but you need something to go with your pibil… Cilantro Lime Rice is the ticket, holmes…

: Mango Margaritas

An M.O.B. Production

  • 3 oz (or 4… or 5) Silver Tequila ( I used coconut infused tequila, but you can use whatever you have on hand)
  • 2 oz Cointreau, or Triple Sec
  • 4 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice, from about 4 lemons
  • 4 ounces of simple syrup*
  • 3 large fresh mangoes, partially frozen, yielding about 2 1/2 cups chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  1. Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Alternatively, you can place all ingredients in a large bowl and blend until smooth using an immersion hand blender.

Enjoy this… For serious…

Makes 4, very thick 5 oz. margaritas

If you don’t enjoy your margaritas thick, feel free to thin out with water… Or booze…

* To make simple syrup –

  1. In a small saucepan combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water and bring to a boil. When the sugar has completely dissolved and the mixture has a syrup consistency, remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
  2. You can speed the process along by placing the saucepan in a bowl filled with ice water. I know you want to get your drink on as soon as possible. You can place the remaining syrup in an airtight sealed container and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Preparation time: 10 minute(s)

Number of servings (yield): 4
