So I wear glasses now. About a year ago I noticed my vision was sort of blurring and like any person who associates vision loss with aging, I ignored it.

I ignored the hell out of it.

‘Me, need glasses?! I see JUST FINE!’

I’d say this as I pushed objects further and further to read them.

Eventually even I could no longer deny that my vision was going to hell. I went to the optometrist, more like forced. Kicking, screaming, bitching up a storm.

I got glasses. And now every single time I wear them I think of the documentary Pimps up, Ho’s down. There was a hooker in that documentary called ‘The Teacher’ whose husband was pimping her out. She wore glasses and was missing all her teeth.

I’m not a ho’, my husband does not pimp me out. There is no rhyme or reason to my thought process. Please don’t try and analyze me. It will make YOU crazy. It’s just where my mind gravitates to when I wear my glasses. So for fun I googled the documentary and I found there are laws to the pimping game. 48 of them, to be exact.

Some are, I suppose, obvious such as ‘You need fire and Desire’. I mean, that’s clearly obvious given the line of work and the hours a ho’ puts in. I’m assuming. I don’t know. I do know it’s not a 9-5 sort of profession.

Others… Not so much. The terminology escapes me. I have no idea what ‘Switch up’ or ‘Avoid Gorillas and Godzillas’ mean. Is it in reference to movies? Big men? I dunno.

As I try to decipher the pimping game, for no other reason than to satisfy morbid curiosity – I want to inform you know that:

  1. I look pretty cute in glasses. Not like a toothless ho’ at all. Perhaps a librarian.
  2. I made you a Banana Cream Pie Dip.

Game Day is, what – This weekend? If you’re hosting a game day party and would like to serve a dessert that won’t break the bank or take time away from the game (who’s playing again?) – This is it, homies!

Allow me get this out now: I’m usually a scratch baker/dessert maker; however, in the interest of time we’re going to take some surrious shortcuts.

Flow with me.

I doctored up some instant Jell-O Banana Cream Pudding with heavy cream. You know, for the hefty not the wimpy. I added a package of cream cheese, ‘cause it is how I rolls. Banana liqueur and vanilla extract to boost the banana flavor, and confectioners’ sugar to stabilize that mofo.

This Banana Cream Dip makes a boatload – At least a quart. Real talk. It’s a lotta dip. Double or triple if your crowd is large. Pipe half of it it decoratively or spoon it in a bowl. Layer that sucka’ with ripe banana slices, then pipe or spoon the rest.

Grab a box of Nilla wafers and have at it. Like really have at it. No shame. Eff your diets – It’s Game Day! I did and I’m not going to say I ate a quart of dip, but I’m going to say I got damn close.

Banana Cream Pudding Dip

With a few ingredients and less than five minutes to make, this Banana Cream Pudding Dip is packed with flavor and perfect for Game Day! Grab the Nilla Wafers, homies!!!

Ingredients

  • 1 package Jell-O Instant Banana Pudding Mix
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream
  • 1 package 8 ounces Cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Banana liqueur or extract optional
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cup Confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 Ripe bananas sliced
  • 1 box Nilla wafers
  • Crushed Nilla wafers for garnish (optional)
  • Sliced bananas for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • In a bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, add the pudding mix and heavy cream. Mix on high speed until thickened and combined. Stop the mixer and scrape to incorporate ingredients. Be sure to scrape the bottom of the mixer. Otherwise you’ll end up with a powdery clumpy situation.
  • Add the cream cheese, banana liqueur, and vanilla extract. Mix on high speed until completely combined and no lumps of cream cheese remain. Turn off the mixer and add the confectioners’ sugar. Turn the mixer to low speed and mix for a few seconds until the sugar is combined with the pudding mixture. Increase the speed to high and mix for 45 seconds to a 1 minute to combine all ingredients.
  • Pipe or spoon half the pudding mixture in a medium sized bowl. Layer with ripe bananas, then pipe or spoon the rest of the Banana pudding mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  • To serve: Garnish with crushed Nilla wafers and ripe bananas, if desired. Serve with Nilla Wafers.
